Linda passed away peacefully, with her children by her side, on June 21, 2025 at Family Health West, in Fruita CO. She was born October 15, 1948, to John and Lenora Porter in Rifle, Colorado, where she spent her childhood, graduating from Rifle High School in 1966. Linda spent most of her adult years in Fruita and El Jebel, eventually moving back to Rifle. Linda and her husband Jim made the move to Grand Junction in 2016 to be closer to their doctors and Jim's cancer treatments. She loved sewing, gardening, and spent a lot of her time decorating birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Milender, her parents, John and Lenora Porter, and her brother, John Allen Porter. She is survived by her twin sons, William (Bill) Eiland, Theron Eiland, her daughter, Chareen (Dan) Gienapp, grandchildren, Andrew (Naomi) Eiland, Kendra (Tom) Schoonover, Jason Rohde, John Paul Kuersten, and great grandchildren, Andrew (Roo) Eiland, Stacie Mack and Chance Mack.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the Picture Ranch mobile home park community center on August 16, 2025, from 1pm-3pm. Just as she would have wanted, this is an informal celebration, with lots of laughs and good conversation with family and friends. So, please come, have a glass of iced tea, pull up a chair to catch up with old friends, make new friends, and share your memories of our mom!
