Leslie Melchor

August 5, 1963 — December 6, 2023

Leslie “Les” Melchor, Age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. Lukes Presbyterian Hospital after a long battle of liver disease.

Born August 5, 1963 in Grand Junction, CO to Frankie and Mary Melchor, Leslie was the youngest of their four children.

Les graduated from Central High School in Grand Junction, CO in 1982 and a year later married his high school sweetheart, Darrelyn Most, the mother of their three children, whom he later divorced.

Upon graduating he worked in jewelry retail for many years, and later transitioned to the liquor sales business for the remainder of his working life. He loved to socialize and made many friends this way.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time in the mountains, camping, fishing, target shooting, riding ATV’s, and hunting. Breakfast on Sunday’s was his all-time favorite. He was a generous man, outgoing, and could always make you laugh with his jokes. Les loved and cherished his family, and he never missed a moment to tell them.

He is preceded in death by his father Frankie Melchor, and survived by his mother Mary Melchor - Grand Junction, CO, brother Lewis (Judy) Melchor - Grand Junction, CO, sister Lorretta (Jerry) Patton – Albuquerque, NM, brother Lawrence (Annette) Melchor - Grand Junction, CO, son Matthew (Jessica) Melchor – Fruita, CO, daughter Amanda (Micah) Fielder, Grand Junction, CO, daughter Ashley Melchor (Ryan Schoenrock) Pueblo, CO and his three grandchildren, Kenda & Kason Fielder, and Raylen Schoenrock.
