Laurie Ann McCall, 79, of Palisade, Colorado, passed away on October 9, 2026. Born on April 14, 1947, Laurie grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and later spent many cherished years in Gunnison, Grand Junction, and lastly Palisade, Colorado.

Known affectionately to her family as "Grandma Sprinkles," Laurie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Yet, her truest legacy lay in how she chose to live. She firmly believed that life is defined not by what happens to us, but by how we respond to it. Facing every challenge with quiet strength and immense courage, she proved that the obstacles in our path are rarely as formidable as they seem.

Beyond family, Laurie dedicated her professional life to helping others. As a compassionate mental health therapist and college instructor, she found immense joy in her work. She made it her mission to ensure people had the support and guidance to thrive. Her resilience and spirit live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Randy Darnel; sons, Tom, and Dave (Lisa) McCall; sister, Wendy Iannarilli; granddaughters, Bailey, Maya, and Charlie McCall; and stepchildren, Bryson, Chad, Shane, and Shannon Darnel.
