Larry G Funk Jr. was born on September 24, 1961. He passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 64, at HopeWest Hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer. Larry was born in Gunnison Co. and later relocated to Grand Junction Co; He graduated from Fruita Monument High School.

He met and married his soul mate Vonna (Echer) Funk in 1987. Together with his brother-in-law and father-in-law started Duncan and Sons Upholstery. He later moved on and went into a partnership with his son and started Stitches Upholstery. He was committed to his skill and highly respected in the field for over 30 years.

Larry loved hunting, fishing and basically anything outdoors in the mountains. He took great pride in passing the love of this onto his children and grandchildren and anyone that wanted to go.

Larry is survived by his wife Vonna Funk, two children Cassie (Justin) Bruner of Grand Junction Co., and Jeremy (Sheena) Funk of Grand Junction, Co. His 6 Grandchildren, Audrina, Braxton, Ember, Duncan, Kenzie, and Paisley. His parents, Larry Sr. and Carol Funk of Fruita Co, siblings Debbie Jenkins of Loveland Co, Betty (Ray) Moreno of Denver Co, Robert (Terry) Funk of Grand Junction, Co., and multiple Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. Many times, through the years, he and Vonna opened their home to many young people, needing a safe or nurturing home. Luiza, a foreign exchange student from Brazil, and Brandan Miller an adopted son from Denver Co. and many others through the years.

He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by everyone he touched.

A celebration of life will take place later this year.
