Kemp Kimberlin

October 16, 1944 — September 18, 2017

Kemp passed away September 18, 2017 at Hope West Hospice. He was born to Oler and Hayzelle in Vallejo, California.

A US Army Veteran during the Vietnam War, he received the National Defense and Vietnam Service medals with two Bronze Stars; and the Vietnam Campaign and Army Commendation Medals. After his service, he worked as a surgical technician with The Veterans Hospital in Missouri.

Returning to Colorado, he worked as a bartender at the old Out West Bar in Rifle before moving back to Grand Junction. He was kind, caring and always had a sharp wit, helping hand and a ready beer! He was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, Christopher Rock of Grand Junction; and a brother, Scott Kimberlin of Canon City.

His Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2017 at the V A Memorial Cemetery

Contributions may be made to Hope West and the Grand Junction V A Medical Center.
