Karen Diane Smith

Karen Smith was a Colorado native born in Denver, CO in 1955. She was raised by her mother in the Denver area. Where she stayed until she and her husband Smitty moved to New Castle CO in 1985. Here is where they raised their daughter and spent precious time with their 3 grandsons!

After Smitty passed away in 2015, Karen moved to senior housing in New Castle and continued to enjoy time with her family!

She spent her final months living at Mesa Vista in Battlemen Mesa where she made a huge impact and was a ray of light to all the residents, who will miss her dearly!

Karen is survived and will be greatly missed and always loved by her daughter Rhiannen and husband Richard Pappas of New Castle, Grandsons Cole and wife Destany Pappas of Rife, Bryce and wife Kaylee Pappas of New Castle and Kayne Pappas of New Castle. Great Granddaughter Braylee Pappas, Brother Randy Nieto wife Peggy of Denver, Sister Ziggy DeGall of rifle, 2 Aunties, all her beautiful Nieces and Handsome Nephews, Cousins and friends who were more like family!

She is preceded in death by her mother Theresa (Terry) Degall, her loving Husband Smitty and her sister Michelle! Karen will always be remembered for the passionate way she loved her friends and family!

Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life August 26th 2023 at Harvey Gap in Silt @2pm.
