Joylyn Jane Ragland, 64, passed away the 23rd of June 2025, suddenly following a long illness. Born the 7th of August 1960 in Odessa, Texas, she was the daughter of Troy Jordan and Joy Jordan. Joylyn graduated from Odessa High School and later received her associate’s degree at Midland College, in Midland Texas.
She had been employed at Walmart as a customer service representative for 15 years, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Prior to that she worked at Cingular, as a call center representative for 5 years, in Midland Texas.
Joylyn loved creating lifelong memories for the grandchildren, experiencing new places, off-grid camping, sharing her love of music, and making peoples day brighter with her stories. She had a dry sense of humor and easily related to everyone; she never met a stranger and was blessed with an adventurers’ soul. While family was important to her, her grandchildren were her priority, she meticulously planned summer adventures and learning opportunities for them. Joy’s work family always felt valued, there was never an issue too small for her to care about or make time for.
Joylyn was preceded in death by her father Troy Jordan, mother Joy Jordan, and cousin Kelly Jordan.
Joylyn is survived by her loving husband Mark Bodnar. Children: Joy Jordan, Tamara Bodnar, Janah Fielding, Sydney Bodnar, and Jaylon Ragland. Grandchildren: Aaron Fielding, Christian Fielding, Josiah Martinez, Elizabeth Egan, Cade Free, Cason Free, Jemma Free. Loving In-laws: Cory Free, Jaime Gonzalez, Wendy Avila, Michael Fielding, and Mike Egan.
Her celebration of life will be held Monday June 30th, 2025, 1:00 P.M., at Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Services.
In lieu of flowers please plant a tree or consider making a donation in Joylyn’s name to ASPCA at aspca.org, thank you.
