Jon
Bosse
May 23, 1938 – December 25, 2025
Jon R. Bosse, age 87, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on December 25, 2025. Jon was born May 23, 1938, to Ray and Helen (Talich) Bosse the last of four children. He attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. He enlisted in the United States Army and served six months on active duty, and six years in the Army Reserves. On May 27, 1962 he married Virginia (Ginni) Parish in Kearney, NE. Jon received a scholarship to attend the University of Wyoming where he earned a Masters Degree in counseling and psychology. Jon and Ginni moved to Montrose, CO where Jon taught at the high school, and Ginni began her career as a Registered Nurse. Their three children, Julia, Jon M, and Mark were all raised in Montrose. After many years of rigorous working in a variety of fields, Jon retired from teaching in 1993 and he and Ginni moved to Placerville, CO. Jon then worked for the ski area in Telluride, noting one specific interaction loading Oprah into a gondola where he was thanked by name. Jon and Ginni moved to Norwood, CO in 2000. During his time in Telluride, Jon worked for the ski area, was a volleyball coach, and was able to watch two of his grand daughters grow from elementary school through high school. He was an auxiliary coach to them both, which lead to one of his granddaughters, Mallory, participating in the state championships for Telluride High School. After his grandchildren graduated, he moved to Grand Junction with his wife Ginni, and enjoyed participating in the classes he audited at Mesa State and frequenting the sporting events for Mesa athletes. He was a master gardener and humbly boasted pantries full of canned foods he grew and then cooked from scratch. He was an avid reader, writer and lover of sports. He created a living document of genealogy for his family, after traveling many countries and states with his wife, to educate his family on their lineage and purpose. Jon is remembered by his children, Julia, Jon, and Mark, as well as his grandchildren, Lindsey, Jon MIchael, Amanda, Mallory, and Jacob; and eight great grandchildren: Vincent, Michelle, Ember, Lane, Lance, Wade, Quinn, and Azalea. Jon passed in Grand Junction Colorado.
