Johnny W. Raglin Jr. aka “JJ”, 35, passed away on February 21, 2026, leaving behind the family he loved deeply and wholeheartedly.
Born on June 19, 1990, in Lubbock, Texas, JJ later built his life in the Vail Valley of Colorado, where he moved with his wife and children. There, he worked hard, raised his family, and created a home filled with love, laughter, and purpose.
JJ lived with passion, determination, and a fiercely loyal heart. Above all else, he was a father and a proud grandfather. He carried those roles with pride and intention every single day.
JJ’s life was not without challenges. He faced seasons that tested him, shaped him, and required strength that many never saw. Those experiences made him protective, determined, and deeply committed to building something better for his family. He worked hard to create stability, love, and opportunity for his children.
He was a devoted dad to Jonavon Rae, Jorden Ray, Kendall Jade, Josiah Luis, and De’la Rose Raglin, and a loving grandfather to Jazlynn Lee Raglin. His children and granddaughter were his world. He encouraged them to be their very best, to work hard, stay curious, and believe in themselves.
JJ loved being active with his kids. Whether playing football in the yard, laughing through backyard games, or turning everyday moments into connection. He also transformed the kitchen into a lab for science experiments, creating hands-on lessons filled with curiosity and excitement. The work ethic, resilience, and confidence he instilled in them will continue to shape their lives.
Professionally, JJ was a dedicated HVAC technician at R&H Mechanical in Eagle, Colorado. He took great pride in his craft and was known for his professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic. Coworkers respected him, and clients appreciated the care and integrity he brought to every job. He consistently strived to provide the highest level of service.
Outside of work and family life, JJ enjoyed fantasy football and golf. Whether setting his lineup, talking strategy, or spending time on the course, he loved the camaraderie and competition. He shared a deep and meaningful bond with his wife, Araceli Veleta. JJ was proud of her career and supported her ambitions wholeheartedly. Together they built a life centered on family, growth, and commitment. Through every season, they chose each other and worked to create a strong foundation for their children.
JJ is survived by his beloved children, granddaughter, and wife, Araceli; his father, Johnny Wayne Raglin Sr.; his mother, Jami Renee; his stepfather, Jeff Buck; his in-laws, Carmel and Daniel Ponce, and Luis Veleta; his best friend, Aaron Jeremiah Morales, and Aaron’s daughter, Sofia Morales. He was also a loving father figure to Sophia Rosales. He leaves behind many extended family members, coworkers, clients, and friends whose lives were touched by his loyalty and presence.
Though his time here was far too short, JJ’s legacy lives most powerfully through his children and granddaughter, in their strength, their curiosity, their work ethic, and the love that surrounds them.
Memorial details will be shared with friends and family.
He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever part of the family he cherished most.
