John Gordon Riccillo IV

November 3, 1990 — May 16, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Gordon Riccillo IV, who left us way too soon on May 16, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on November 3, 1990, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

John’s journey through life was filled with love, adventure, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone who knew him, until his untimely death in a motorcycle accident in the very place he called home. John was the beloved son of John Riccillo and Lisa and John Wishart. His parents raised him with love and values that shaped him into the remarkable man he became.

Throughout his life, John was a steadfast presence, characterized by his gentle nature, especially towards children, and his relentless work ethic. He possessed an indomitable spirit, marked by determination and passion, which sometimes manifested as stubbornness that his loved ones came to admire and cherish today. His passion for knowledge and his curious mind led him to be a jack of all trades—he dabbled in various fields throughout his career, leaving a mark of hard work wherever he went. John's versatility and ability to tackle any task with enthusiasm earned him the respect and admiration of both friends and colleagues alike.

John was devoted to his family. Erin was not only his spouse but the love of his life and best friend for over half of their lives. A partner with whom he created lasting memories. John took Bently , Erin’s daughter in as his own, and welcomed Lincoln into the world. He poured his heart and soul into being a devoted father, importing lessons of resilience and kindness to his children, ensuring they would impact the world. John was also working diligently to become a better man and a stronger father for his son Alex, who just turned one. He was present. He was trying. And every day, through his words and actions, John showed Alex how deeply he was loved—until the very day he was taken from us.

He was not just a dedicated worker; he was an adventurer at heart. He loved the great outdoors, where he found solace and joy in snowboarding and taking long rides on his motorcycle. His love for nature and thrill-seeking activities often brought him closer to his family and friends, as they shared unforgettable experiences together. John's bond with his sister, Suzanne Mariah was one of mutual support and love, providing each other with strength through life's challenges. His family and friends will forever remember him as a gentle soul whose laughter could brighten even the darkest days.

In honor of John's life, a celebration of his life and memorial ride will be held on June 1, 2025. The celebration of life will take place at Mariposa Shelter at Las Colonias Park, after the final ride, where family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate the incredible impact he had on all of our lives. For those wishing to honor John's legacy further, a GoFundMe page has been established by Sam Butler, with proceeds aimed at supporting the education and needs of John's beloved children.

As we remember John, we thank everyone who has helped make this a day to celebrate his life. His spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him. Johnny will not be forgotten but remembered for his dedication and kindness to those around him. Johnny you were loved more than words can express, and we will carry your spirit with us always.
