Joe Galen Kennedy

Joe Galen Kennedy, a distinguished individual who touched the lives of many, passed away on June 11, 2025, at the HopeWest Care Center following a brief illness. Born on September 21, 1946, in Altus, Oklahoma, Galen's journey through life was marked by his dedication to family, his career, and his passions.

Graduating from Longview High School in Texas, Galen furthered his education in college before embarking on a successful career as a Medical Equipment Salesperson. Over the years, he earned recognition as a top representative in his field, showcasing his remarkable ability to connect with others and provide exceptional service.

Galen was known for his generous spirit, extending warmth not only to his family but also to his beloved dogs. His passion for dog shows took him on travels across the country, where he found joy and fulfillment in participating in these events.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Galen enjoyed a rich array of interests. A true movie buff, he found great pleasure in cinema, often sharing his enthusiasm for films with those around him.

He leaves behind a loving family who remembers him fondly for his unwavering dedication and care. His wife, Neva Kennedy, along with his daughter, Shelly Pennington; son, David Kennedy; stepdaughter, LaDonna Walker; stepson, Richard Navarro; and sister, Judy Ward, cherish the memories and the legacy of love he has left behind.

Above all, Galen's proudest accomplishments were tied to his family, who were the center of his world. His generous nature and vibrant personality fostered strong bonds that will endure in the hearts of his loved ones. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought into their lives.
