Joan F Rhyne 10-15-42 to 7-6-23.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joan Frances Rhyne on 7-6-23 at HopeWest in Grand Junction Colorado.
Joan was one of seven children born to Joseph Frank Gimple and Mary Rose Troyer/Gimple in Palisade Colorado, she was the middle child of six girls and one boy.
Her early childhood was spent in Sego Utah and then moved to Palisade, where she graduated from Palisade High. In 1960 the family moved to Grand Junction-Palisade area where she spent the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis, brother Joe, and sisters; Rosemary, Jeannie, and baby Mary Rose.
She was employed by Gale and Co. and was the Office Manager for 20 years. There is where she met her husband, the love of her life Dennis Rhyne.
Joan is survived by her son, Joseph Rhyne, sisters; Carol Zinko-Rose and Kathy Roberts (John), sister in law Phyllis Gimpel, two nieces; Kimberly Gedstad (Ray) and Erica Gimpel, two nephews; Art Zinko (Jera) and Jon Roberts (Farrah), seven great nieces and ten great nephews; (Katlyn (Paul), Brian (Kylie), Maryonna, Paige, Holden, Annalise, Danica, AJ, Ryder, Stone, Axel, Ace, Octavia, Beck, Tripp, Keelie, and Kyle.)
Three great - great nephews and one great -great niece; Beau, Jack, Lila, and Kolt.
Kimberly Dawn her niece, cherished her so much, that when she was a child gave her the name “Wannie”. So generationally all her great nieces and nephews, including her great - great nieces and nephews, also dearly adore her and continue to call her Wannie as well AND consider her their second grandma.
Joan devoted her life and love to her son and entire family. Her favorite enjoyment in life was playing the accordion with her mother, Mary Gimple and attending many polka parties! Joan and Dennis spent many weekends hunting arrowheads, camping, and fishing. Joan was an amazing woman, wonderful wife, mother, sister, and best friend. She had a heart of gold, was kind and caring, witty and compassionate to many. She was truly a special angel on earth and she will be dearly missed by her family who loved and adored her. Cremation has taken place at her request -there will be no services.
