Jerry Lee Root

Jerry Lee Root, beloved son of Opal and Abe Garcia, was born on July 4, 1971, and passed away on June 3, 2024. Jerry, who was special needs, touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his brother Leston Bond (Audrey), sister-in-law DeeAnn Garcia, and several cherished nieces and nephews. Jerry graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1992 and brought joy to everyone around him with his love for Elvis, Santa Claus, teddy bears, and basketball. He adored going on car rides with the radio turned on. Jerry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmett and Bertha Barnes, and his brother Randy Garcia. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
