James Golden Thompson
April 15, 1942 – July 7, 2022
James Golden Thompson of 654 Highland Dr. Clifton, Colorado passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Mr. Thompson was a supervisor at the Grand Junction Regional Center, and he retired from there in 1994. He was born to Harm and Beulah Thompson on April 15th, 1942, in Eminence, Missouri. He spent his childhood and attended school in Missouri.
He moved to Colorado in 1958 and married Phyllis Carey on August 17th, 1959, in Palisade, Colorado. They had three children Kathy of Grand Junction, Colorado, Dan of Fruita, Colorado and Tammy of Clifton, Colorado, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Golden enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanic work, old cars, collecting his favorite things, and spending time with family and friends.
He was always willing to help others and was loved and appreciated by all who knew him. He was a member of the New Haven Palisade Church.
He is survived by one brother Paul of Winona, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and six brothers.
Services will be held on Monday, July 18th at 11:00, New Haven Church, 426 Kluge Ave. Palisade, Colorado. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Carey and HopeWest chaplain Dan Wilkie. Viewing is 9:45 –10:45 prior to services. Burial at Palisade Municipal Cemetery immediately following.
