Obituary for James Charles Herod, Jimmy.

Our precious curmudgeon left the battlefield of cancer Monday morning.  August 7, 2023.

Son of J.C. and Florine Herod in Craig Colorado.

Jimmy, aka the Marina Man for 31 years at Cedar Springs Marina in Utah. Jimmy moved to Fruita, Colorado to care for his mother, Florine.

Not ready to be “retired” Jimmy and his life partner, Carol, opened Gumbo Lov Soulful Cajun food truck.

Jimmy was a member of the Boom Town Players in Craig Colorado where he entertained many with his theatrical stage talent.

Jimmy was a people person! He loved meeting, greeting, and making people laugh. He made lifelong friends wherever he went.  He worked with many nephews and nieces, and other teenage dockhands over the years at the marina. Jimmy taught all of them how to work hard and love the lake.

Jimmy is survived by his spouse Carol Kitterlin, Mother Florine Herod, Son Christopher (Aubrey) Campbell, Brother Jerry (Sheri) Herod, Sisters Jan Stone and Linda (Bob) Linville, and three beautiful grandbabies, many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

And finally all the coworkers, and friends whose lives he touched!.

A celebration of life will be held on September 9, 2023, at Cedar Springs Marina, Dutch John Utah.

Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services. Whom we greatly thank for their loving care of Jimmy.
