Jackie Ray Pollard

April 13, 1930 - December 14, 2014

Jackie was born in Butler, Oklahoma April 13 1930 to Raymond and Martha (Prachnow) Pollard.  He had one brother, Glen Dean, and three sisters, Betty Jo, Emma Lou and Janie.  In 1936 the family moved to Montrose, Colorado.  Shortly after the move, Jackie's father died.  That meant the kids had to work hard and pitch in to take care of the ranch.

Jackie served in the Korean War from 1951 until 1953.  After returning home from the war he went to work at Union Carbide in Uravan, Colorado where he met Reva Cunningham the love of his life.  After dating for a short while and with permission from Reva's father, Jackie proposed and they were married July 3, 1954.  They spent 60 wonderful years together and had three children Deana, Jackie and Marty.  Jackie always worked hard and provided for his family.  He loved all of his children and was an incredible father.  His family was his number one priority and he took the responsibility for them seriously.

In 1978 Jackie and his family moved to Clifton, Colorado where he worked for the BFI until he retired in 1993.  Jackie was a dedicated employee and took pride in his work.

Wherever Jackie lived he always raised a garden.  He enjoyed gardening and could grow amazing tomatoes.  He always had enough to go around and would share with all the neighbors.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Reva, his daughter Deana, his son Marty, his sisters Emma Lou and Janie, four grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Amy and Christopher, and seven great grandchildren. Alycia, Iseah, Jason Jr. Madison, Derek, Nadia and Asia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glen Dean, his sister BettyJo and his son Jackie.
