Jack David Camp

Jack David Camp, 82, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away on December 4, 2023.  He is survived by his children Earl (April), of Craig, Dave, of Craig, Cheryl, of Craig, Mike (Tonya), of Billings, Dale (Andrea), of Craig, his partner, Marie Rader, of Grand Junction, his nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl, Sr. & Lura, his brothers, Howard and Vernon, and his grandson, Jack, Jr.

 

Jack was born in Craig, Colorado, May 24, 1941.  He grew up in Craig, attended Moffat County High School and enrolled in the service. He served in the Navy and the Marine Corps. 

He met Jacqueline Camp in Los Angeles, California, in 1961.  They were married on November 22, 1961.  After he finished his service, Jack and Jackie returned to Craig in June, of 1962, and raised their 5 children there.  Jack worked for Stanton Trucking and American Gilsonite.  He also had a franchise for Meadow Gold and Holsum Bread. He owned and operated C & C Market,  C & C Shop & Texaco (where J.W. Snacks is located). He retired from the Tri-State G & T. 

 

Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, classic cars, and riding motorcycles.  He passed on his love of classic cars to his family. He enjoyed family gatherings and barbeques. In his retirement years Jack and Marie enjoyed fishing, hiking and picnics.
