Imogene Mae Amirault

January 21, 1937 — June 16, 2023

Imogene Mae Yates Amirault, 86 years old, died on Friday, June 16, 2023 following multiple medical issues.

 

Imogene was born on January 21, 1937, in Arapahoe, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late, Cleveland Angus Yates and Lillie Mae Pope.

 

Imogene attended and graduated from Blanca High School in Blanca, Colorado.  She along with her best friend Martha Skinkle (later becoming her sister-in-law), began working for the telephone company in Alamosa, Colorado. 

 

She loved her career with the phone company and worked in several locations over her 32 year career.  She proudly served as an officer in the Denver, Colorado CWA union. 

 

Imogene moved to Hartford, Connecticut to be with the love of her life, Alfred Amirault, later marrying on July 6, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They enjoyed nearly 44 years of marriage, friendship, and memories.  Imogene and Al loved spending time with family and traveling, going on many cruises and trips over the years.

 

Imogene is survived by Ed & Pam Parker of Boise, ID, Jeff & Christine Parker of Denver, CO and Ginger Geiser of Orangeville, UT, bonus children, Christopher & Heather Amirault and Michelle & Jay Chechile, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, her sister Myrtle Ann & Bob Watson and sister-in-law Martha Yates.

 

Imogene was proceeded in death by her parents, her beautiful daughter Bobbi & son-in-law Harvey, and her dear brother, Sonny Yates.

 

A private family viewing and celebration of life will take place, followed by cremation.
