Howard F. Loge

Howard Frederick Loge (Howie), 97, passed away on July 31, 2023.

He was born on April 9, 1926 in Niagara Falls, New York. He was the son of the late Fred and Florence Loge and brother to his three late sisters, Helen, Dorothy and Ruth.

Howie graduated from high school and enlisted in the army at the age of 18. He served in WWII with the 90th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations. After serving 4 years in the military, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Nelson. They married in 1948.

Howie was self employed as a hard working carpenter and specialized in remodeling.

He and Marilyn moved to Grand Junction, CO in 1995 to join their daughter and her family. They loved living in Western Colorado and enjoyed many years of their retirement doing what they loved best - serving the Lord.

Marilyn and Howie had a very strong faith in God and were active at Canyon View Vineyard Church and Calvary Bible Church. They enjoyed their home fellowship groups and made many close friends. For 20 years, Howie volunteered with Kairos Prison Ministry in Delta and Rifle, CO.

Golf and fishing were his favorite sports. He enjoyed watching football, tennis, baseball and golf on TV. Howie was an avid reader and especially enjoyed Westerns.

The Loge family especially enjoyed their cabin on Grindstone Lake in Ontario, Canada. Howie took pride in building the family cabin entirely by hand as there was no electricity available at the time. He used discarded building materials from previous remodeling jobs. The fishing there was great! They loved sitting by the campfire and listening to the loons.

He was very dedicated to his family and was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, and survived by his daughter, Judy (Jack) Rogan, and sons, Dan (Ellen) Loge, all living in Grand Junction, Jim (Teresa) Loge, Flagstaff, AZ and Dave (Jill) Loge, Lewiston, NY. He had 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Life & Luncheon will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, 11:30 am at the Calvary Bible Church, 629 27-1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO.
