H. Mark Beebe, 64, passed away on the evening of May 6, 2025 after a courageous battle with diabetes and its complications.
Early Life Education
Born April 3, 1961, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Wanda Almond Beebe and Homer Lloyd Beebe, Mark spent his formative years in Longmont, Colorado. At Longmont High School he excelled in cross-country running and diving, even balancing a part-time job at Albertsons. For his senior year, the family relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where Mark graduated from Sabino High School and enjoyed competing in gymnastics.
He went on to attend the University of Arizona, where he was both a member of the gymnastics team and a development associate at IBM. His early career took him to GM Delco in Michigan and also Mark VII in Arvada, Colorado where he earned several patents- demonstrating a lifelong knack for innovation.
Entrepreneur and Father
Eventually settling in Palisade, Colorado, Mark founded Beebe Electronics. This venture not only showcased his creativity and technical skill but also afforded him the flexibility to raise his two sons as a devoted single dad. He shared with them a passion for the outdoors- rock-climbing, river rafting, stargazing – and taught them “creative Dad” skills like building tree forts and rocket projects.
Character
Quiet by nature, Mark’s kindness and wry humor endeared him to everyone he met. He had a talent for making the ordinary extraordinary- designing a photo scavenger hunt, or fixing a neighbor’s radio at dawn. His inventive spirit, generosity, and steady smile will be remembered by all who knew him.
