Harold “Hal” Hoffman

November 26, 1937 to December 22, 2016

Hal was born in Windsor Colorado but spent most of his life on the Western Slope, moving to Craig in 1950 and graduating from High School in 1957. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Ann Snyder. They were blessed with two children: Chad and Sabrina. Hal was active in many civic and community organizations, including 15+ years in the Army National Guard. On November 29th 1980, Hal married Dianna Boggs (Rifle, CO) in Glenwood Springs.

Hal was gifted in many areas and worked hard at a wide variety of jobs over his lifetime. His greatest joy was founding and owning All Season Sports in Craig, Colorado. All Season Sports earned a regional reputation for Hal’s gunsmithing and bicycle shop. He also gave 20 years of service to the Craig Rural Fire Department. In 1989 Hal retired, and he and Dianna moved to the Grand Valley, where they enjoyed new opportunities for employment, adventure, and spiritual growth. During this time, they developed many treasured friendships. In retirement, Hal enjoyed being a “snow bird”, travelling to Arizona in the winter.

Hal is survived by his wife, Dianna, of Fruita, CO; sister, Barbara (Larry) Summers of Littleton, CO; sister Bonnie (Ron) Wilson of Craig, CO; son Chad Hoffman of Arizona City, AZ; daughter Sabrina Hoffman of Grand Junction, CO; bonus son Rodger (Melissa) Boggs of Denver, CO; bonus daughter Roxann Lynn of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The “Halleluiah Hal” Celebration will be held on January 14 at 1:00pm at New Horizons Foursquare Church (641 Horizon Drive in Grand Junction between 7th and 12th).
