Harold Daniel Casey

Harold Daniel "Dan" Casey, affectionately known to many as "Handy Dan the Plumbing Man," passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in the caring hands of HopeWest Hospice.

Dan was born on January 9, 1944, in Clearwater, Florida. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting in April 1962 and receiving an Honorable Discharge in April 1966 after four years of dedicated service.

In 1974, Dan made Colorado his home and built a life filled with hard work, friendships, and community. He later spent seven years in California before returning to Colorado, where he remained for the rest of his life.

Dan was known for his strong work ethic, practical skills, and willingness to lend a helping hand. His nickname, "Handy Dan the Plumbing Man," reflected both his profession and the reputation he earned through years of helping others.

A devoted sports fan, Dan loved baseball, basketball, and football. He enthusiastically cheered for his favorite teams, especially the Florida Gators and the Denver Broncos. Whether watching a game, discussing sports with friends, or celebrating a victory, his passion for sports was unmistakable.

Dan is survived by his sister, Marilee King, her husband Doug King, and his beloved nieces, Melanie and Amy. He also leaves behind his three children: Kim Casey and his partner Katy Bicknell; Danny Casey, and his children Sydney (Jody), Madyson (two great-grandsons), and Chrystopher; and Jennifer Prather, her husband Jason Prather, and their children Kaitlyn, Karen (Dan), and Hunter.

Dan will be remembered for his service to his country, his hard-working nature, his sense of humor, and the many lives he touched throughout the years. He leaves behind family members, friends, and all who knew and loved him, who will cherish the memories they shared with him.
