Guillermo Villarreal, 79, of Meeker, Colorado, passed away on August 27, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was born on March 17, 1946, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Virginia and Manuel Villarreal.Guillermo grew up in Crystal City, Texas, before moving to Greeley, Colorado, in 1962. In 2020, he made his home in Meeker. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968 and later worked as a farm laborer, school bus driver, custodian, and in other positions throughout his life. Though disabled for much of his adult years, Guillermo was known for his strong spirit and enduring character.He had many passions and interests, including fishing, woodworking, playing the bass and guitar, Tejano music, singing, cooking, wine collecting, and yard work. He found joy and community in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and especially loved spending time outdoors in Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as on lakes and rivers.Guillermo will be remembered as strong, enduring, soft spoken, spiritual, independent, hardworking, and fun-loving.He was also extremely humorous and generous. He is survived by his children Olivia Villarreal, Guillermo (Will) Villarreal Jr., and David Villarreal; grandchildren Jason, William, Leah, Aria, Ayla, and Eliora Villarreal; two great-grandchildren; and siblings Jesse Villarreal and Tina Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Manuel Villarreal.
