Geri Dickenson

June 27, 1963 — June 27, 2024

Geri Beth Dickenson was the third born of three daughters to parents Emily and Paul Dickenson June 27th 1963 in Philippi, WV, She came into this world happy and healthy, and once she learned how to smile it never went away.

Her childhood was filled with traditional American family activities such as camping and fishing. Tight family values such as big home cooked family dinners were a common practice and not a special occasion like it seems in today's world. These things were cherished and Geri and her beloved sisters grew up in a house with love and with the Lord.

She met Rocky Dodson as a late teen and he fell head over heels for Geris charm and sass. They married in January of 1982, they were in love and had three children together, Rocky Jr, Patrick and Robert. She carried the values of her own upbringing and did her best to raise her kids with qualities that define a good person. She was a devoted Mother and Wife. She worked in grocery retail and customer service and enjoyed the customers and thought of them as family. People would spend more time than usual stocking up on meat just to interact with Geri and her intensely kind nature.

In her later years she could be found loving on the Grandkids and sitting on the porch. She really understood what it was like to be human and every interaction she had with anyone meant something special. She was truly loved and showed others how to love someone the right way, she will forever be missed.

Geri was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband Rocky, as well as her dear sister Kay. She is survived by all three of her sons, her sweet sister, Paula Ashley, nephew Jesse Ashley as well as beloved grandkids Abigail, Amelia, Jonathan and the newest addition, Hailey. Geri went to be with the Lord June 27th, she passed away suddenly in her childhood home in Grand Junction Colorado.

Her services are scheduled at Browns Memorial Monday July 29th at 2:00 pm. It is open to all friends and family, please join us in celebrating a wonderful woman
