Geraldine Marie Jewell

Geraldine (Geri) Marie Jewell passed away August 5, 2025 in Rifle Co. Her life was dedicated to family. She had an unwavering independent spirit. She was one of 10 children born to Richard and Othlie Simms (Robinson) in Rifle CO. It was here that she learned her love of family, strength and perseverance.

Family was the most important thing and brought her much joy.

Geri married twice, from those unions had 6 children; Donnie Disney, Velma (Arlan)White, Jackie Jewell, Sandy Jewell, Billie Jo Jewell and baby Jewell who died prematurely.

Grandchildren; Patrea, Chayla and Ben; Josh (Dianna) White, Thad (Brianna) White and Garret (Tiffany)White; Jake Place and Damien (Alan) Pontine, Rocco (Jesse)Bello; Dustin Worley and Jesse (Tiffany) Worley; Loren (Stephanie) Jewell, Aaron Roletto, Dakota (Tina) Jewell and Jacey Jewell.

Great grandchildren; Christian, Katelyn and Skylar; Lauren, Jenna and Rachel; Brantley, Teigann and Brayden; Reese and Judd, Devon and Parker; Nicholas, Parker and Oliver, Bailey, Preston, Jessie and Brooklyn; Gage and Bryelle; Amera; Zoey.

Great Great grandchildren; Natalie, Mia, Alex, Buck, Amyah, Evelyn, Brayden and Caroline.

She experienced pain in the loss of her grandsons Jake Place and Dustin Worley, brothers Richard Simms, James Simms, Earl Simms, Baby boy, Joe Simms; Sisters Stella Aldrich and Sally Elmore. Her parents and grandparents, brother-in-law Ken Hutchings. She embraced the idea and faith in seeing them all again one day.

She is survived by sisters Shirley Hutchings, Margie (Ron) Maynard, Sister-in-laws, Judy Simms, Rocklynn Simms and Linda Simms. Many much-loved nieces and nephews and their families.

Geri’s working life was dedicated to helping others she worked as a C.N.A for many years. She drove bus for Exxon and Brown and Root and school bus for Rifle, Newcastle and Silt area

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and being with family.
