Gary Bent

Gary Kane Bent, age 85 passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Junction on 7/3/15.  Gary was born in Price UT and is survived by his wife Shirley Gilligan married 65 years, his brother Daniel Bent, his children Laurette (Jim) Dalton, Gill (Joan) Bent, & Kristi Bent, nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

After graduating as a football and track star from Carbon High, he moved to Denver with his sweetheart, got married, and began a family and career as a professional painter.  While there he fell in love with the Denver Broncos and was a lifetime fan.  He loved coming to Grand Junction to deer hunt with his brother-in-laws on Piñon Mesa.  He also built a cabin and spent many wonderful summers there with his family.  Family and friends will miss his many pranks, jokes, and hot peppers.  He was an owner/ operator house painter and helped anyone paint their office or home. He was a good brother, uncle, baboo/bubber, in lieu of the word “grandpa” which he never liked.  His passing will bring wonderful memories to our hearts.  Services will be held in Price, UT.
