Eva Darlene Thompson

 Eva Darlene (Childers) Thompson, aged 93, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born June 15, 1931 in Casper, Wyoming, the second of five children born to Edward Stanley Childers and Helen Gertrude (Anderson) Childers. She grew up in Wyoming and Colorado, before moving to California where she met Billy Joe Thompson. They were married on December 3, 1949, a marriage that lasted almost 52 years ending with his death in 2001. 

As part of a US Air Force family, they lived around the world where she served as a Civil Service employee at Anderson AFB, Guam, Vandenberg AFB, California, and Homestead AFB, Florida. She worked as a medical secretary for 20 years at the Grand Junction VA Hospital before retiring in 1991.

She is survived by her son Bill (Colleen) Thompson, grandsons Brian (Sara) and Luke, brother William (Linda) Childers, two great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Bill, brother Charles, and sisters Leoma and Dolly Ellen, preceded her in death.

Eva loved music, gardening and reading and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction.
