Obituary

Ernest (Ernie) Trujillo, age 85, died on June 14th, 2026.


Born September 17th, 1940 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, he was the son of Joe Trujillo and Benita Gonzales.


Ernest attended Rocky Ford Junior/Senior High School in Rocky Ford, Colorado.


He was a veteran of the US Navy, and was enlisted for four years.


Ernie had moved to Grand Junction, CO in 1967, where he ran the Shell Station as an auto mechanic until 1982, where he then opened his own mechanic shop in 1984, “Ernie’s Auto Repair”, later retiring after 25 years.


He enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies, the Denver Broncos, and college football as well. Ernie also enjoyed fishing, camping, any outdoor adventures, watching t.v, and spending time with family and friends.


He was always dedicated to family and would go out of his way to help people.


Ernie was funny, friendly, and outgoing.


He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, his great grandson, Josiah Rosales, as well as five brothers - Tony, Harry, Lawrence, Mark, and Martin Trujillo.


He is survived by his wife, Adela Trujillo, sons Eric (Lorena) Trujillo and Jonah Sanchez Trujillo, Grand Junction, CO, daughters Teresa (Carla) Trujillo, Pueblo, CO, and Melicia (Tim) Lane, Colorado Springs, CO, sisters Olympia (Joe) Tominelli, Rockford, IL, Faye (Jimmy) Cordova, La Junta, CO, Lucille (Frank) Aragon, San Diego, CA, brother Leonard (Charlene) Trujillo, Las Animas, CO, sister in law Linda (Mark) Trujillo, Grand Junction, CO, grandchildren Joseph, Adrianna, Miranda, Seth, Breanna, and Travon, great grandchildren Leanna and Dahlia, and numerous nieces and nephews.


No services will be held.
