Eloy Mauricio Alcon 

Eloy Mauricio Alcon went to be with our Lord on February 27th, 2024.

May he rest in the arms of the Lord, Our Heavenly Father has called him home.

 

Eloy, affectionately known as “shorty”, was born in Monero, New Mexico on August 16th, 1936 to Juan Demostenes Alcon and Frances Marques.

Eloy was baptized at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lumberton New Mexico.

 

 He attended Alamosa High School in Alamosa, Colorado.

 

Eloy enjoyed his neighbors and friends and was known to have a great sense of humor. He was well loved by medical support team and caregivers.

Eloy was a quiet man often a man of deep thoughts. Liked to hear the latest news from his friends and always reflected on his life.

 

He received his ASE certification from M.A.T.T.S. Technical institute in Denver, Colorado and worked in the automobile industry. He also worked in highway tunnel and dam construction.  He was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed exercise, and was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos.

 

Eloy was preceded in death by his father Juan Demostenes (JD) Alcon and Frances Marques;

Eloy was preceded in death by siblings, sister Maximillian {maxi} Alcon, Brother Juan Demostenes Jr. Alcon, Sister Juanita Alcon, Sister Maria Delfina Virginia Alcon, and Brother Albert Alcon.

Eloy was preceded in death by his Son Carl Alcon and Daughter-in-law {Janet Alcon} and Grandson Joseph Alcon Williams.

Eloy was preceded in death by many uncles and aunts.

Eloy was survived by his children; Sons Tony Alcon {Sherri}, Eloy Alcon Jr.  Daughter, Virginia Haag [Erik}, Son Joe Alcon all of Grand Junction, Co. and Son Gary Alcon of Virginia Beach, Va.

Eloy was also survived by his Sisters, Candie Gurule, of Durango, Co, Beatrice Black {Charlie}, of Ogden, Utah, Carmel Alcon of Casa Grande, AZ., Caroline Martinez {John] of Lakewood, Co. and Brother Phil Alcon {Joann} of Cortez Co.

Eloy was Survived also by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Rosary Service will be Friday, July 5, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Sacred Heart Parish in Durango, Co. and Mass service Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Parish in Durango, Co.  Burial service will be at Green Mount Cemetery in Durango following the Mass Church service in Durango. CO.
