Duane Van Sickler, age 68, passed on March 14th, 2025. He was born on August 26, 1956 to Helen and Maynard Sickler. He attended Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, CO, and received his GED in 2013 in Grand Junction, CO.
Duane attended Lutheran Church and School of Messiah where he was an elder for several years.
Duane was the owner of D.V.S. Foundations. As a concrete form setter, he loved a good challenge, and took pride in doing a job right. Duane always showed fairness and integrity in all his business dealings.
Duane enjoyed fishing, watching the Broncos play with his family, antiquing with his wife, watching a good old western, reading or watching an epic fantasy, and spending time with his kids at every age. He loved going to his kids' extracurricular activities that included choir, orchestra, wrestling, football, basketball, and for years was the go-to person for hair ties at all of his daughter’s volleyball games.
Duane always had a good joke to share, there wasn't a dog that didn't love a good "butt scratch" from him, and he could enter a room full of strangers and walk out with several new friends. His heart was gentle and loving; he often gave to those less fortunate, and did so with grace, always leaving them with their dignity.
Duane was preceded in death by his mother Helen Sickler and his father Maynard Sickler.
He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Jamie, son Caleb, and daughter Katherine.
Services will be held at Lutheran Church and School of Messiah on Saturday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m.
