Doris Jeanette Bochmann was born on February 28, 1931, at her grandmother's house in Batsun Prairie, Texas. Her parents were Edgar and Zada Picard. Doris lived in many places over her childhood as her parents worked in the Oilfield industry. Doris graduated from Meeteetse, Wyoming, High School in 1949. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and canning. Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren.
Doris met Richard (Dick) Bochmann when he started working for her father on the rigs. They married on September 5, 1949, in Craig, Colorado. Dick and Doris made their home in Craig until May 10, 1991, when they moved to Fruita, Colorado. She was saved on September 23, 1958, at the First Assembly of God in Craig, Colorado. Doris and Dick were members of the church for many years. They also helped build the Nazarene and Church of God churches in Craig. They were members of the Fruita Assembly of God Church since 1991.
Doris was proceeded in death by her parents Edgar and Zada Picard, her husband Richard (Dick) Bochmann, her eldest daughter Judy Sadvar, her youngest daughter Brenda Knob, her youngest son Bruce Bochmann, her brothers Kenny, Curtis, and Pete Picard, and her sister Laura O’Brien. She is survived by her four remaining children: Richard (and Donna) Bochmann of Elko, NV; Debi Bochmann, Grand Junction, CO; Mary Bochmann of Fruita; and David Bochmann of Fruita, CO; 19 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Church of God at 690 Riford Rd., Craig, CO on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 11:00 am. Internment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Craig, CO following the service.
