Donald Eugene Cook, age 81, passed away on June 18th, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born January 2nd, 1944, in Abilene, Texas, to the late Jessie Eugene Cook and Lorna Muriel Cook (Brown).
Don graduated from Alamosa High School in 1962 and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked nearly 29 years in the grocery business, retiring from City Market. He attended to LDS church when he would attend, and very much enjoyed his ranch work, fishing, camping, and spending time with friends. He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Kay Cook, and brother, Robert Cook. He is survived by his sons, Darren (Nicole) Cook and Doug Cook, both of Colorado, and their families. Don is also survived by siblings Carolyn Luster, Beverly Busby, Sandra Hill, and Diana Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 12th at Clifton Bible Chapel, 523 32 Rd, Clifton, CO 81520. Services are under the care of Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Service.
