Obituary

Diane Baldwin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, and faithful servant of Jesus, went home to be with Jesus on July 7, 2026, at the age of 70.

Diane was born on September 18, 1955, in Oakes, North Dakota, to Vernon Sr. and Vira Doty. From an early age, she possessed a compassionate heart and a desire to care for others. She pursued that calling by earning her nursing degree from Olivet Nazarene University in 1978 and began her career as a registered nurse at Oakes Hospital and later at Kirksville Hospital, where she faithfully cared for countless patients with skill, kindness, and compassion.

In 1981, Diane married the love of her life, Brad Baldwin. Together they built a home grounded in faith, love, and unwavering devotion to one another. They welcomed their first daughter, Sarah, in 1982, and their second daughter, Laura, in 1988. She always said her daughters were her “greatest treasure”. In 1993, the family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where Diane spent the remainder of her life building deep friendships and serving the community she loved.

Although nursing was one of Diane’s callings, her greatest ministry was her work at The Pregnancy Center. There, she shared hope with women and families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Through her gentle spirit, listening ear, compassionate heart, and steadfast faith, she reflected the love of Christ to everyone she encountered. Her impact reached far beyond what words can express, and the countless lives she touched are part of the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Diane faithfully attended Calvary Chapel for many years, where she continued to grow in her love for the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She trusted God in every season, including the many health challenges she faced over the years. Even through suffering, she remained steadfast, choosing hope over fear and grace over discouragement. She lived with the quiet confidence that God was always faithful, and because of that faith, she faced each day with courage and peace. Her life was a testimony to God’s goodness, and today she is completely healed in the presence of the One she loved so deeply.

Of all the roles Diane treasured, none brought her greater joy than being “Nama.” Her grandchildren, Kinley (13) and Graham (9), were the light of her life. She delighted in every moment spent with them, celebrating their accomplishments, creating special memories, and showering them with unconditional love. They knew they were deeply cherished, and being their grandmother was one of God’s greatest gifts to her.

Diane also found joy in traveling with those she loved, preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table, and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She had a gift for making people feel cared for, whether through a warm meal, a heartfelt conversation, or a simple act of kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Sr. and Vira; her brother, Vernon; her brother, Nate; and her sister, Sharon.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Dr. Brad Baldwin; her daughters, Sarah (Kenneth) and Laura (Michael); her beloved grandchildren, Kinley and Graham; her sister, Karen (Jack); her brother, Wayne (Kathy); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and countless people whose lives were forever changed by her kindness and faithful witness.

Diane will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering faith, servant’s spirit, and the love she poured into every person God placed in her path. Though her family mourns her absence, they rejoice in the promise that she is now healed, whole, and forever with Jesus.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she has heard the words she longed for all her life: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Diane finished her race with faith, and her legacy of love, compassion, and trust in God will continue to inspire generations to come.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
