Obituary

Diana “Kay” Clymer passed peacefully from this world and into the arms of Jesus and all those awaiting her on Friday, October 9. She was surrounded by family with numerous family and friends visiting during the week she was in hospice.

Kay was born to Bud and Jeane Clymer on August 23, 1939. She was the eldest of three children, Joleen and Robin Clymer, and the first grandchild of Fred and Mabelle Clymer.

Kay graduated in 1957 and married that same year. They had four daughters, Tami (Ron) Duran, Sheli Mae, Lori Von Burg, and Deena (Brian Limper) Von Burg. Ten grandchildren, twenty nine gr grandchildren, fifteen gr gr grandchildren, and several adopted “kids!”

She later met the love of her life, Jay Coates! He proceeded her in death as did her parents, brother, and daughter Lori.

Mustangs were her favorite, she owned several, and (I’m fairly certain) never got caught drag racing! Jewelry was another favorite, she even worked in the “biz” for a few years. Always, always she had on a necklace and earrings!

Kay was an avid photographer, it was what she loved the most, she definitely had “the “eye” and won some local contests for her photos. Her favorite job was working at Lumley’s Vet clinic where she excelled and learned skills that would take her through life. There she met her best friend, Sandy Dupper. Kay never met a stranger, she’d start chatting and soon they’d be going out to lunch! She even remained close friends with people she went to kindergarten with, once you were on the list…

She loved singing in the car, many many miles of good memories, she and her girls.

Kay was a voracious reader, accomplished seamstress, and passionate critter lover, she took in any stray, kid or animal!

She leaves behind her best kitty friend, Snowflake. Thank you Sandy for taking her in!

She loved her family and with each grandbaby that came along, her legacy grew. In her later life she blossomed! She always was a beautiful woman and as she aged, she became even more beautiful, in spirit! She always had time to listen and advise, several people were heard to say she even helped change their life by her wise words and compassion. Everyone would say what a sweet woman she was!

There will be a celebration of life on Friday, October 23 at 3pm at Brown’s, 904 N 7th St, GJ.
