David Murphy Davies, aged 70, of Fruita, Colorado, passed away on June 8, 2021. Born on February 23, 1951, in Beaumont, Texas, David was a devoted husband to Carolyn Cummins Davies and a loving father to Paul Davies and John Davies. He was preceded in death by his son, Jake Davies.

David was the cherished son of Lillian and Murphy Davies and grew up in Beaumont. He attended French High School and went on to earn a degree in Psychology from Rice University. Music was a significant part of David’s life; he was a talented guitarist who played for 32 years in well-known bands, including Fever Tree and Black Sabbath. Following his musical career, David dedicated himself to caring for individuals with serious mental illness, demonstrating his compassion and commitment to helping others.

David’s family remembers him as a devoted husband and father who raised bright, independent sons. He is survived by his wife Carolyn and sons Paul and John. He was also preceded in death by his mother Lillian, father Murphy, and sister Sharon Davies.
