David Lyen

David George Lyen, age 71, of Cortez, CO passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, CO.

Born July 16, 1943 in Henderson, Nevada, he was the son of the late George William and Ruth McCall Lyen.  David joined the Marines right out of high school and proudly served his country during the Viet Nam War.

David was a Hard Rock Gold Miner and had also owned and operated a Bobcat business. He was known as the “dirt doctor”.

David, who was lovingly called “Mogen David” by some of his friends, is survived by his daughter, Hillery Lyen, of Glenwood Springs, CO, three sisters, Mary Pierce, of CA, Sue Cutler of KY and Annabel Stickle, of Durango, CO.  He is also survived by four grand children.
