David Paul Farmer, age 71, entered into Heaven’s pearly gates on February 28th, 2023, following a lengthy illness. Born January 30th, 1952 in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of the late Paul and Cleo Farmer. David graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1970 and then attended Western Bible Institute in Denver, Colorado and the Technical Trades Institute in Grand Junction, Colorado. David had various jobs but the one he was most proud of was being the Awana Missionary for Western Colorado, Utah and surrounding areas. He worked in some kind of capacity in the Awana Clubs for over 40 years. He also faithfully served as a board member at Twin Peaks Bible Camp for over 40 years.
Above all his greatest joy was his family. He was known for frequently calling and checking in on his children and his siblings, especially his older sister, Nancy. Staying connected with family was greatly important to him. David’s main goal in life was to leave behind a lasting legacy of God’s love and faithfulness to every person that he came in contact with. Serving his Lord and Savior was the biggest priority in life. He truly lived his life as a walking testimony of God’s love, sharing not only with his family but countless children through Awana Clubs and Twin Peaks Bible Camp.
David was proceeded in death by his parents, two younger brothers, and two grandchildren. David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Jane Haas Farmer and his four children, Tammy Mixter, Jasson, Jessica Lucas and Justin and their spouses. David is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and his three siblings, Nancy, Bruce and Wanda plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Monument View Bible Church at 1173 17 ½ Rd, Fruita Colorado 81521 phone number 970-858-3954 on March 8th, 2023 at 6:00pm.
