Dautie JoLynn Reed, 32, passed away in late March 2026. Her legacy is defined by her vibrant spirit and the deep, unwavering love she had for her family and friends.
Dautie was born on February 9, 1994, in Greeley, Colorado. She spent her early years in the Greeley area before moving to Grand Junction Colorado in 2004 with her mother, brother, and sister. Dautie attended Nisley Elementary and Central High School before continuing her education at Job Corps in Collbran, Colorado, where she graduated in 2013. She went on to graduate from a Medical Assistant Program in 2018. It was one of many examples of her determination and her refusal to give up, no matter how busy life was. Dautie was vivacious, fierce, and a true spitfire. She was known for her humor, her quick wit, and her ability to light up any room with her contagious energy. She had a natural way of bringing out the best in people, encouraging them, and reminding them of their potential. She was blessed with a natural athletic ability, the kind where she could pick up any sport and excel. That same natural talent extended to her other hobbies such as restoring old furniture, riding horses, and caring for her many plants. She loved animals of all kinds and had a special talent for training dogs. Above all else, Dautie loved being a mom, and she was an incredible one. Her children were her world, her greatest pride. Everything she did, she did with them in mind. They remember her not just as their mother, but as their safe place. They want the world to know that their mom was beautiful inside and out. She never gave up on them. She was always there cheering them on at school events, supporting their dreams, and celebrating their accomplishments. She always believed in them and helped them grow, encouraging them to become the best versions of themselves. They remember how she would sit and talk with them about anything; school, life, feelings, always listening without judgment. When days were hard, she found ways to make them better. She would turn on their favorite song and dance with them, just to see them smile. She worked hard to make their dreams come true, even decorating their bedrooms to reflect exactly who they are. To them, she wasn’t just mom, she was their biggest supporter, their coach, their comfort, and their home. She is survived by her three children, Caleb, Jamie, and Joshua; her mother; her brother and sister; and many extended family members and friends. Dautie’s life was not defined by the hardships or obstacles she faced, but by the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the way she made people feel seen and valued. Her spirit was larger than life, and even in difficult moments, she found ways to bring light to others. Her bright smile and boisterous laugh is living on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be missed beyond words, and remembered beyond time. We Love You Always Dautie!
