OBITUARY FOR DARLENE GLADYS HAILE
Darlene Gladys Haile was born in Tooele Utah October 23, 1934 to the late Lyman Amasa Mecham and Gladys Haslam Mecham.
Darlene took great pride in being a mother and a homemaker. It truly brought her great joy. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing delicious, healthy meals for her family. She loved having her hands in the dirt gardening and planting beautiful flowers. She was very good at decorating cakes and made many wedding cakes and birthday cakes. She showed us by example the traits of healthy eating, healthy living and taking pride in hard work. Darlene was an avid BYU fan. It didn’t matter the sport, she knew the schedule days in advance and would look forward to watching them.
Darlene loved her Heavenly Father. She had an unwavering faith. She served many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society and was Relief Society president for many years. She taught kids from Primary to Young Women attending girls camp which she loved. She also managed the Bishop’s Storehouse. She truly took pride in serving each calling to her fullest potential.
May 2, 2017 our dear, beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away very quickly and unexpectedly in her home. Darlene is survived by her sons Kenneth Haile, Clinton Haile, her daughters Davene Collins and Teena Emanuel. Darlene is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Darlene’s love will live on inside of us which we will hold tight. There was not a day that went by in our lives we did not feel her love.
