Dario Urrutia

November 22, 1980 — December 26, 2024

Dario Urrutia, aged 44, passed away tragically December 26th, 2024 in a car accident in Grand Junction. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was well known for his huge smile and warm welcoming nature. He was incredibly tender hearted and inclusive of all he met.

Born Nov 22, 1980 in Price, UT, he was the second son of Daniel Urrutia and Virginia (Contreras) Urrutia. She passed away in 1982. In 1986 his father married Romelia (Parra) and Dario was then raised by Daniel and Romelia. Dario was raised with his older brother, Daniel, and younger sisters, Erica and Brandy.

Dario graduated from Carbon High in 1999. That same year, he also became a father. In 2000, Dario moved to Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife at the time, and his young son Zyan. Once settled in Grand Junction, they soon had his next son, Kenyon. Though the couple later divorced, Dario remained devoted to his sons. He loved the adventures he had with them, and would do anything for them.

Dario met Madison (Leon) in 2008, and they quickly became inseparable. She was the love of his life. He believed she was the best thing that had ever happened to him. They married in 2010. They later had a son, Aramis, and a daughter Amaya. Every day with him was an adventure.

Dario had a passion for adventure. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and a true love for life. His love of Volkswagens, and the VW community, gave Dario many cherished memories. He was often found working on his VW’s, or driving in them with his family. He had plans to take his family to travel in his bus or bug in the upcoming year.
