Daniel Scott

January 28, 1956 — February 17, 2023

Daniel Charles Scott was received by the Lord on February 17, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was preceded in death by both parents Charles “Dennis” and Marilyn Scott. He is survived by his Wife, Darlene, two sisters Linda Robinson (Lot) of Grand Junction and Karen Scott of Bozeman Montana as well as Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

Dan was born on January 28, 1956.  He was adopted by the Scotts six months later from an orphanage in Seoul, South Korea.  His father was a military man, therefore, Dan  spent his formative years in Japan, Turkey, Spain as well as various locations throughout the United States.  He graduated from Central High School in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1974.  He attended one year at Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado studying art.

His passion for music began at a young age and continued to develop though-out the years.   As a result, in his twenties and early thirties he traveled throughout the Western United States and Canada playing in rock and country rock bands as a bassist.

In the late 1980’s, his hunger for God led him to World Harvest Church and a fellow musician, now turned Pastor, John Cappetto. As the church grew over the years changing its name to Faith Heights Church, Dan continued to play on its praise and worship team as a guitar player until the day of his passing.

In 2004 Dan got Darlene to lock eyes with him and then in 2005 he was blessed to receive her as his wife.  For many years they served together at Faith Heights Church in the Altar Ministry.  They enjoyed adventures together visiting places such as Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Denver and Telluride.
