1959 Dane 2025

Dane David Meisenheimer

March 30, 1959 — December 31, 2025

Dane passed away peacefully at home on New Years eve, 2025, with his brother Dana, Dana's kids and his best friend Ric Beldon at his side. He valiantly battled prostate cancer for years and true to his nature, he chose to leave under his own terms. He was the kindest, most generous of souls who will be deeply missed.

Dane was born on March 30, 1959, along with his twin brother Dana to Darrel and Oneta Meisenheimer. He joined an older sister Tish and a twin brother/sister combo, Brock and Kadette.

Dane attended Taylor Elementary in a kindergarten class taught by his mom in Palisade. The family moved to Grand Junction where he transferred to West middle school. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1978.

He was a good athlete who played a sport every season however he was partial to football and baseball. Dane took up mountain and road biking in an all-consuming way and thrived on training as much as the competition. He successfully completed many rides including Ride the Rockies and other series. Despite surviving injuries from a run in with a pickup truck, he continued to ride and enjoyed recounting stories about the rides and the drama that inevitably came with each one.

He worked for the railroad for over 20 years and eventually took a medical disability due to a number of injuries he accumulated along the way.

He is survived by his sisters Tish and Kadette and his twin brother, Dana. Brock passed away in 2012. Nieces and nephews are Blake Brown, Britt Moos, Rhy Meisenheimer, Lauren Knuth and Mitch Lagro plus their respective spouses and children. He was known as the goofy uncle and enjoyed teasing the newest additions to the family, a Meisenheimer tradition. We cherish the time we had together. You will be missed however we have many good memories and plan to enjoy the "Daneisms" collected along the way.

Please consider making a memorial contribution in Dane's name to Hope West.
