Celebrating the Life of Cristine Lynn Peterson
Cristine “Cris”, 76, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025. A true daughter of Los Angeles, she was born in 1949 into a life flavored by the magic of the city.
She inherited a legacy of grace and grit from her mother, who famously served as a stunt double for Shirley Temple. Growing up Cris developed her own unique sense of style and a vibrant personality that would define her life and career. A woman of immense talent and even greater heart, she spent over 20 years as a small business owner and a dedicated nail technician, transforming a simple service into a lifelong ministry of friendship.
Behind her manicure table, Cris was a master of her craft. She had a gift for listening, offering words of wisdom, and a way of making every client feel like family. She didn’t just paint polish. Her salon chair was a place of beauty, storytelling and laughter. That infectious and unforgettable laugh of hers, that still radiates in our hearts and ‘polishes’ our spirit.
When she wasn't at the salon, Cris was a world traveler at heart. Her favorite activity was experiencing life to the fullest, whether that meant exploring new horizons or simply embracing a new adventure. She lived with a curiosity and zest that never faded.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Craig, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a beautiful life, rooted in love, family, and hard work, and she carried his memory with her in everything she did.
She is survived by her three sons: Mike Smith, Mark Smith, and Brian Peterson.
Her spirit of adventure lives on through her grandchildren.
