Psalms 23:1-6

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.”

Cris Mitchell, has left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Born in Portland, Oregon, Cris's journey on this earth came to a peaceful end in Grand Junction, CO.

Described as an incredible and loving man by those who knew him best, Cris possessed a heart of gold that always prioritized others before himself. His devotion to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He found solace in discussing the Bible, particularly Psalms, and his deep-rooted spirituality shone through in his interactions with others. One could never overlook Cris's sweet tooth - a testament to his fondness for snacks and all things sugary. His angelic blue eyes and ever-present kindness earned him the endearing nickname "baby" from his loving wife Rebecca. Cris adored the color maroon and held a special place in his heart for elephants.

Above all else, Cris treasured his children - Dylian Doane and Ryan Mitchell - considering them the light of his life. His love extended beyond his own family to embrace his stepchildren Shadrick Gibson and Emily Anderson. He ensured that his family never went without, embodying the roles of not just a devoted husband and father but also a cherished brother of Heather Mitchell VanGundy and grandfather to his grandchildren.

Cris's warm personality and genuine nature were cherished by friends who surrounded him. His departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Cris Mitchell, we take solace in knowing that he has reunited with our Creator. Though he may have departed from our sight, his memory will forever remain etched in our hearts. Until we meet again on that eternal shore, Cris will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Rest peacefully, dear Cris, your impact on this world will endure through the love you shared with us all.

Timothy 4:7

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
