Charles Warren Thompson, 92, passed away on July 27, 2022.
Born on December 29, 1929 in Holly, Colorado and was the second son of the late Henry Lee and Merle Ethel Thompson.
Charles attended Chariton High School in Chariton, Iowa where he met his sweet wife, Florence E Hall. They were married right after graduation and were sweethearts for 72 years.
When they first got married, Charles dug ditches for the local farmers and eventually bought a septic tank pump truck. In 1964 he moved his family to Colorado where he became a Master Plumber. Charles plumbed many condos and houses in Vail, Colorado for 14 years. At the age of 54 he retired and traveled the country with his wife. They saw many wonderful places and enjoyed their time together for about 5 years. They finally settled down in Grand Junction, Colo. Where he bought his prized scroll saw and starting making little nik naks. He eventually started making beautiful clocks. Charles and Florence went to craft fairs to sell their creations for about 35 years. He loved to saw and would spend many days from the time he got up until late in the evening out in his wood shop.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Merle Thompson, his older brother John Thomspon, his younger brother, Richard Thompson and his two sons, Terry Thompson and Charles Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Florence Thompson, his daughter Deborah Holt [Missouri] and his daughter Dixie Thompson [Colorado], 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, August 11th 2022 at 10am at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, 2620 Legacy Way, Grand Junction, Colo.
