Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carla Lee, who passed away on October 25, 2026, following a lengthy illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carla was born in Santa Maria, California, on January 4, 1948. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Bill Lee, beginning a marriage that would span 58 years. Together, they welcomed their son, Anthony “Tony” Lee, in 1971. In 1980, the family moved to Clifton, Colorado, where Bill had lived before his service in the United States Navy.

Carla was a hard worker with a creative spirit, a quick wit, and a personality that could light up a room. Many in the community may remember her as a familiar face behind the counter at Country Kitchen and WW Peppers, where she worked for decades. She was always ready with a clever remark or a snappy comeback when the moment called for one. Her sharp sense of humor was a part of who she was and a quality that those who knew her will always remember.

Outside of work, Carla enjoyed camping, riding the four-wheeler, creating beautiful artwork, and spending time with her beloved animals. She was a fantastic artist whose creativity reflected her unique spirit. Above all, Carla loved her family unconditionally. Her family meant everything to her, and she welcomed Tony’s wife, Becky, in 1994 with the love of the daughter she had always wanted. Her love for her family was unwavering, and the memories she created with them will be treasured for generations.

Carla is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bill Lee; her son, Anthony “Tony” Lee; her daughter-in-law, Becky Lee; her grandchildren, Alex Lee and Zach Lee and his wife, Lizzy; and her great-granddaughters, Sophie and Eleanor Lee. Her family was her greatest treasure, and her love will continue to live on through each of them.

The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to HopeWest for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Carla and her loved ones throughout her lengthy illness. Their dedication and compassion brought comfort to the family during a difficult time.

Arrangements are being handled by Brown’s Funeral Home. At this time, no services are scheduled.

Carla will be remembered for her strong work ethic, artistic talent, love of animals and the outdoors, quick wit, and, most importantly, the unconditional love she gave her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

Rest peacefully, Carla. You were loved beyond measure, and you will never be forgotten.
