Obituary

Bryson Jacob Thomas, age 24, is resting in eternal peace. Though his time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Bryson was born on October 1, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, and passed away on June 30, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Bryson is survived by his loving family and friends, including his mother, Rebecca (Becky) Thomas of Clifton, Colorado; his father, Chad Michael Thomas of Grand Junction, Colorado; his sister, Brittany Thomas; and many friends whom he considered his brothers, along with countless others who were family. He is also survived by his grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.

Bryson served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He completed four years of honorable service and returned home to Grand Junction, CO, on May 8, 2026, carrying with him the pride, courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment that defined his character. The Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful—was reflected in the loyalty and dedication Bryson showed to his family, friends, and fellow Marines.

Bryson had a gift for brightening every room he entered. His quick wit, infectious laugh, hilarious one-liners, and spot-on voice impressions brought smiles wherever he went. He was a free spirit who embraced life with an open heart, lived each day to the fullest, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether it was family, friends, or a stranger in need, Bryson was always willing to give of himself. His kindness, generosity, and genuine love for others were among his greatest gifts.

An outdoorsman at heart, Bryson found happiness fishing, hunting, cooking, camping, and gathering around campfires with family and friends. He treasured life's simple moments and the people who shared them. He truly lived Carpe Diem—seizing the day and making the most of every moment. While we will miss his smile, laughter, and larger-than-life personality, we are grateful for every memory he gave us. You will never be forgotten!

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Bryson's name to organizations supporting mental health and suicide prevention. May these gifts honor not only Bryson's memory but also all those who face mental health challenges.

We all struggle with battles in life, and sometimes we need compassion, support, and encouragement from others to help us keep going. Please reach out to those who may be struggling. A kind word, a listening ear, a hug, or simply letting someone know they are not alone can make a meaningful difference.

Fair winds and following seas, Marine! We love you, and untill we meet again, you will forever remain in our hearts.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be held on July 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
