Bryan Barrett

November 15, 1960 — December 26, 2021

Bryan Charles Barrett, born November 15, 1960, in Gunnison, CO passed away peacefully on    December 26, 2021, surrounded by family and loved ones. Bryan was raised in Gunnison at the Char-B Resort up Spring Creek. A place that taught him tinkering was a really good way to figure out how things worked, and began his love of helping others. He went from Gunnison to Mount Pleasant, Utah to attend Wasatch Academy where he grew to be a well loved and well rounded master of all fixes.  After graduating from Wasatch he returned to Crested Butte to open and run Angello’s Pizza with his father, Charles and mother, Dorothy.  There he became a pillar of the community, welcoming people into his restaurant, his home and his family.  He welcomed Mary Ann DeVries and Erin Brandt into his life in 1988, and added being an amazing father to the roles that he maintained when he adopted Erin.  He lived in the Gunnison valley maintaining a restaurant, doing hot tub maintenance and installation, digging holes, moving dirt, and telling stories(or bad jokes) of all kinds until 1999, when he moved to Delray Beach, Florida, and opened a maintenance company and assisted others in remodeling and seeing the dreams they had in their heads move to a reality.  Don’t worry, the bad jokes continued. He moved back to Colorado to Grand Junction, to be closer to his family, in 2016, and continued to be a pillar in the community that he moved to for the remainder of his days. Crested Butte remained his home, a town that was ingrained in his life from the ranchers to the skiers to the restaurant community and the locals who made his life happy.

Bryan was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy,  father Charles, his brother who he never met, his granddaughter Trinity, his Aunt Georgine and Uncle Clyde Gibbins of Amarillo,TX, Aunt Charline Jones of Lubbock, TX, Uncle O.B. Renegar of Oklahoma City, OK,Uncle Leroy Hatcher of Folsom, CA, Cousin Don Parker Amarillo, TX, Cousin Pat  Amarillo, TX, as well as many friends who welcome him home. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Barrett, his daughter Erin Barrett (Mervin Ormiston), Granddaughter Alula, Aunt Selma Reneger, Cousin Nancy Parker, Cousins Russell Parker (Debbie), Cousins Deborah Parker Foster (Bo) of Amarillo, TX .
