Brenda Joy Jordan

July 2, 1967 — January 13, 2025

Brenda Joy Jordan passed away quietly in the early morning hours of  January 13, 2025 to join her husband who had passed four and one half months earlier

Brenda was born to Marjorie and Phillip Gray in Grand Junction, the middle daughter of three girls. She grew up in the Appleton area and graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1985.

Brenda met Ted Jordan, Jr. via an introduction through Ted's mom and Ted's mom's good friend Maxine who was Brenda's supervisor at the Mesa County Library. Things clicked and the two were married June 24, 1989 at Koinonia Church and had just celebrated 35 years of marriage before Ted's passing September 1, 2024.

In 1990, Brenda and Ted were excited to expand their family with the birth of their twins, Spencer and Erika. The family enjoyed taking many RV trips to Ridgeway and taking Ted's monstrous Cadillac down to Las Vegas. Brenda loved taking road trips and being with her family. Brenda also had a great fondness for Dachshunds and had two, Lacey and Skooter, that brought her tremendous joy.

Brenda's employment record was vast. At the time of her death she was working for Clarion Inn. We appreciate how supportive the staff was to Brenda during her employment there. Brenda began her work journey in the Children's Department at the Mesa County Library and loved her time there. Former child patrons would recognize her years later and Brenda always remembered most of them! Her family was always amazed at how easily she could find a job and at how hard she worked to support her family. We only wish she would have understood how much she was admired and loved. Her passing has left a hole in our family.

Left behind to miss her are her children Spencer Jordan and Erika Jordan, her sisters Linda (Dan) Cuevas and Anita Gray and her father-in-law Teddy Jordan. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, many aunts, an uncle and numerous cousins. Her husband, parents and mother-in-law all preceded her in passing.

Memorial service will be at Brown's Cremation and Funeral Service, 904 North 7th Street, Grand Junction, on August 29 at 1:00 pm.
