Jeanne Shackles

Jeanne was born in 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, and moved with her family to Lakewood, Colorado, at the age of twelve. On August 12, 1961, she married the love of her life, Ken Shackles, Jr. Together they raised four children and shared 53 joyful years of marriage. Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken, whom she longed to see again in the promised Paradise. She is survived by her children Cindy (Randy) Norris, Ken (Michele) Shackles, Troy (Bonnie) Shackles, and Steve (Karen) Shackles; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Known to many as Mamaw, Jeanne was a warm and generous friend whose family was the delight of her life. Their home was always welcoming and a place where friends, neighbors, and fellow believers felt at ease. She loved spending time with family and friends—camping, riding on the back of Ken’s motorcycle, especially making memories at Lake Powell alongside dear friends. Her creativity shone through in the beautiful handmade cards she created to celebrate life’s sweetest moments. Those who knew her remember her ready smile, listening ear, and knack for making everyone feel special.

Most important to Jeanne was her faith. She dedicated her life to Jehovah on April 19, 1958. She served her God, Jehovah, wholeheartedly, sharing with others the Bible’s promise of peace and a future free from pain and sorrow.
